The Tortured Poets Department Collection
When Taylor Swift’s eleventh studio album debuted in April, I was blown away and also overwhelmed.
As a busy mom of two, and a full-time artist, I can only sit down and really listen to music when I’m painting. I wasn’t in the studio for a few weeks after the album’s release, so I rushed through all the tracks and picked out a few quick favorites to listen to on walks or while driving. It wasn’t until I had a few hours of uninterrupted time to work that I was able to appreciate the album in its entirety.
There’s something uniquely relatable about Taylor’s ability to share so much of herself packed into songs we want to listen to over and over again. We’ve all had to smile through depressive episodes, been completely lost after breakups, and wanted to run away from our lives by recreating a new identity in Florida. Speaking of Florida, I can’t wait to see her concert in Miami next month.
