The Barbie Movie has a lot to unpack, but I found it really enjoyable, hilarious and honest. It’s a fast-paced, candy colored, “you go girl” adventure that touches on motherhood, friendship, relationships and feminism.
I loved Ken’s job (beach!) and how every night is girl’s night. I felt for Barbie when she got to the real world. I laughed at the Kens playing guitar to the Barbies while awkwardly looking into their eyes. I think we’ve all been in a situation like that before and it certainly is awkward. :)
My favorite part of the movie? The unwavering support and friendship shared between the Barbies, who each have their own special talents.
And the costumes. Oh, the costumes. Who’s going as Barbie for Halloween?
